What is the difference between an OKR and a task?

A key result measures an outcome. A task is work you perform. "Publish 12 blog posts" is a task, since publishing them proves nothing changed. "Increase organic signups from 200 to 400 per month" is a key result. Confusing the two is the most common OKR mistake.
